2020 Calf Crop
This past fall we made two trips up near Missoula Montana to purchase some more young females. This group came out of the great breeding program by Larry Coleman and Larry Trexler. They were all 2 and 3 year old cows and were bred to some breed leading sires. We have always struggled with the decision to buy large numbers of animals just for the fear that you end up inheriting problems someone else is getting rid of. Hence the reason we believe so strongly in Embyro transfer. That said, we wanted to try some other lines in our high elevation ranch and we feel that Coleman Angus Ranch and Trexler Angus do a remkarable job of breeding top quality animals. All in all we walked away with 18 females and coulndnt be more excited about them.

About us
Our ranch is located in the small mountain town of Cokeville, Wyoming which has been the home of our family for several generations. My family formerly operated 1200 head of commercial Angus base cattle and worked to breed hardy, easy-doing cattle. Building a small herd with superior genetics has been my dream every since I was a young boy, but the reality of purchasing a place as well as cattle seemed like an impossible feat..No matter what others thought, I was determined to find a way.
Our Herd
Coleman Donna 208
We acquired this $12,000 female from Coleman Angus in Charlo Montana Fall 2018. She is an own daughter of the proven performance sire Rito 707. She is also a full sister to Genex AI sire Coleman Knight 209. We are very excited about this proven Donor Female.
Our Breeding Philosophy
A couple years ago we learned a hard lesson in cattle makeup and the importance of good structure. We bought a load of Registered open heifers that were out of some of the leading sires in the angus breed. We turned out a bull with these pretty heifers and couldnt take our eyes off of them. It didn't take long for that excitement to fade as a couple months later we learned only 60% of them bred up. We had them on mineral and the best alfalfa hay we could find.........
